Week 78: Christmas in Italy!

Image
Ciaooo a tutti!! Welcome back. This was probably one of my favorite weeks on the mission! I've never been so tired but happy at the same time HAH. Things are super bene! • we have been finding the coolest, most prepared, young people! Chiara & Aaron we met this week. It's so fun to teach them because I literally feel like I'm teaching myself! My favorite thing ever was seeing their faces just light up as we gave them a Book of Mormon and testified of the power found within the pages. They are both searching for something more in life and I'm so grateful God let our paths cross! • this week I got to go to 2 Zone Conferences! One was in Florence. Yes you read that right. I'm literally living a dream! 😅 We gave a training with the ZLs about building our discipleship. Fun fact for my FOCO friends lol Elder Toone is the ZL and it's a blast. THEN, 2 days later we went to Pordenone for our other zone conference and trained about perspective & purpose. So much ...

Week 77: "I just want to blanket myself and study all day"

**the subject line is a direct quote from our ysa Nigerian member who I'm convinced is gonna be a prophet on day lol Ciaooooo!! Life is so good! Here's a quick update from me:) - I have never been so happy! Seriously I have just been soaking up the good & the bad & everything in between. I figure I only get a few more sleepless nights of stressing over the salvation of these sweet italian souls so I gotta live it up:)) - we got invited my a old lady in our ward to go watch her & her old lady friends sing carols! It was classic. I've decided that watching a bunch of Italian grandmas sing jingle bells is the greatest thing in the world...next to a good carbonara - we had our english class on zoom and just one person showed up. But she was a nonmember! I felt inspired to ask her if she has any questions about our church and she completely opened up & asked us some great things! So we ended up having an awesome lesson on the gospel of Jesus Christ and she's ...

Quick email to make my mama happy:) CIAO! eccomi! This is my last transfer 🥺 crazy. Time is flying way too fast. But let me just say that in this very moment I don't think I've ever been happier!! Life is so good. GOD IS SO GOOD. And he's been blessing us with so many tender mercies! Some highlights: - I got a new comp and she is the best!! We spent our first day running for 20 minutes straight trying to catch a train. Nothing like two 20 year olds in long dresses and trench coats running through the streets of Trieste with Book of Mormons in their hands and the wind in their hair:,) - CHRISTMAS!! Christmas here is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. The streets are filled with lights, there is music playing in the streets, little markets set up all around town and so much joy in the air! But above all, we got to spend all day talking about Christ and lighting the world! It's just so wonderful. - DAVIDE! I have been praying for the last 4 months for a prepared...

To my sweet aunties!

Hello you beautiful women! With Thanksgiving coming up I just wanted to take some time to thank you all for everything you have done to support me these last 17 months. And quite honestly, these last 20 years!! Besides my mom of course, you are truly all my biggest cheerleaders and I have felt so much love from each of you. I can't tell you how many times I have received an email from one of you that was exactly what I needed to hear in that moment. I thank you for your genuine love and sensitiviy to the spirit. You are the seriously remarkable! I read this talk that Papa gave in 1974 and this quote he said reminded me of you all, his precious daughters, "The way we live is our clearest testimony, particularly when we are under strain and threat and still live righteously. Over time, it reflects what we really believe. If our actions are in harmony with what we say we believe, the Lord will use us and bear testimony through us in some way to every person we meet." Not onl...

Ciao amici miei! It's been a beautiful few weeks here in Trieste:) things are going good! Seeing lots of little miracles and enjoying every second I have here in beautiful Italia. Something cool happened last night that i wanted to share! We have an online english conversation class that we do each week. People are welcome to come and practice speaking english together and we always share a spiritual lesson the last 15 mins of the class! Last night only two people showed up to the class. One was a member and the other a nonmember. I remembered that just a few weeks ago, Anziano Kopischke had invited us to teach english to people by simply teaching them the gospel! And this was the perfect opportunity to do that! So we went for it, we taught about the gospel of Jesus Christ and we read from the Book of Mormon together! It was a beautiful lesson and having the member there to help us was so awesome, but right when we were almost done and about to give an invitation and bare testimony...

Week 72: To the most amazing parents in the world!

Image
Mom & Dad, On my 5 hour train ride this morning I had a lot of time to think about my mission and all of the amazing experiences I've had. With Thanksgiving coming up, I've been trying to reflect on all of the many blessings I have received over the past 17 months. Secondary to the growth in my relationship with God & Jesus Christ, is the growth in my relationships with you two. I cannot even begin to describe how much I love you. I am amazed at how lucky I am to have you as my parents, my best friends, and my biggest cheerleaders through life. I have grown to become even more grateful for you both as I have been serving the mission. I think back on the person I was 3 years ago and it's hard for me to recognize that girl. I was not my happy, funny and cheerful self. I was so self consumed that I seemed to abandon my relationship with you guys and with God. I can't even imagine how hard that must have been. When both my heavenly parents and my earthly parents wer...

Week 71:Il libro di mormon

Ciaooo cari amici!! Come state voi? I am doing well here in Trieste:) haven't gotten blown away by the wind yet so that's a plus. I got a new companion and she is a beast. Rolls out of bed and does 100 pushups every morning kind of beast. God knew I needed to get in shape before I come home😂 These last two weeks have been awesome. We have been working really hard and seeing tender mercies everyday! The other day we were walking to an appointment and accidentally ended up taking the long way there. We ran into an 80 year old lady who was riding her bike back from doing her grocery shopping (the italian women here are incredible)! We started talking to her and helped her take her heavy bags up to her apartment. We ended up sharing a message with her about Christ and praying with her! She was brought to tears with gratitude and kept telling us what a miracle it was that we met! So cool knowing that God helped our paths to cross that day and we were able to bring her closer to Chr...
