Week 74: lasagna for thanksgiving:)
Ciao amici miei! It's been a beautiful few weeks here in Trieste:) things are going good! Seeing lots of little miracles and enjoying every second I have here in beautiful Italia.
Something cool happened last night that i wanted to share! We have an online english conversation class that we do each week. People are welcome to come and practice speaking english together and we always share a spiritual lesson the last 15 mins of the class! Last night only two people showed up to the class. One was a member and the other a nonmember. I remembered that just a few weeks ago, Anziano Kopischke had invited us to teach english to people by simply teaching them the gospel! And this was the perfect opportunity to do that! So we went for it, we taught about the gospel of Jesus Christ and we read from the Book of Mormon together! It was a beautiful lesson and having the member there to help us was so awesome, but right when we were almost done and about to give an invitation and bare testimony, my dumb phone died!! So we were just hoping and praying that our member would "finish" the lesson for us. About 10 mins later, once my phone came back alive, we got the happiest phonecall from the member. She told us that once we left the call, she was able to share with the nonmember her conversion story and testimony. She said that the spirit was so strong and the nonmember even offered to say the closing prayer. Now she wants to start texting her and invite her to church! Hearing this just filled my heart to the brim! I am so grateful for the amazing members here in Italy. They truly are working along side us as we try to gather Israel together!
Sometimes Satan tries to convince me that I am alone in this work. That it's all in my hands and no one's here to help. But I have truly come to realize that we are never alone in the work of the Lord! We have members, missionaries, prophets, apostles, angels, but above all, we have Him. Our Savior is working along side us every step of the way.
" And the Lord of the vineyard said unto them: Go to, and labor in the vineyard, with your might. For behold, this is the last time that I shall nourish my vineyard; for the end is nigh at hand, and the season speedily cometh; and if ye labor with your might with me ye shall have joy in the fruit which I shall lay up unto myself against the time which will soon come.
And it came to pass that the servants did go and labor with their mights; and the Lord of the vineyard labored also with them; and they did obey the commandments of the Lord of the vineyard in all things."
I know this is His work and we can all play a big part in it, if we choose to do so. So my invite to all of you this week is to go and labor in the vineyard! Choose one thing that you can do to help gather Israel and do it! And remember that the Lord is right there with you.
Happy Thanksgiving!! I love you guys. So grateful for you. So grateful for the mission. It's the best thing I ever did. And to all my covey cousins ... eat some chocolate malts for me & have a good talk-it-over this weekend;)
