Week 2: showbiz baby

What's up everyone! Well I just finished up my first full week at the MTC and I can confidently say that I've learned more in the past week than I did in my whole 2 semesters at BYU Hawaii, hahahahah! Seriously though, I feel like my brain is completely fried and I can't possibly memorize another vocab word...until I remind myself that I've still got 5 weeks left and a long way to go!!

This week had a lot of ups and downs for sure but overall it was great:) My classes honestly go by way fast now and I feel like there is never enough time in the day for all the studying I need to do. This week my teacher had some of his friends from his mission (including one of his converts in Italia) zoom into our class so that we could practice teaching them! Of course the person I was assigned to teach was the actual Italian🙃 Me and my comps tried our best to piece together an Italiano lesson for him but let me tell you it was ROUGH. We would ask him questions and he would just go offff  talking so fast and we didn't understand a single thing. We just sat there, nodding our heads saying "si si!" and "bene!" Hahaha the whole experience definitely shot my confidence to the floor and I was feeling so bummed about it for the rest of the day. But then I decided to have the mindset of my good friend Ashlee Searle--so I laughed it off and decided "that's just showbiz baby". ❤️

The best part of the week was teaching our friend Elizabeth in our first ENGLISH TRC!! I was seriously on cloud 9 the entire lesson because she was so excited and receptive to everything we were teaching and the spirit was literally flowing through the computer screen. When it was over I felt so happy! A kind of happiness that I have truly never felt before! I know that TRCs aren't "real lessons" but just teaching someone for the first time was the greatest experience. It made me realize that I will have a hundred bad days on the mission, but it's all worth it when I get to see someone's eyes light up because of the gospel!!

Thanks for all the love and support!
