Week 7: corn, cows and cuss words

Image
CIAO A TUTTI AND HOWDY Y'ALL! Coming at you live from Firestone Colorado...a small little town with more corn fields and cows than actual people😅 My first week in the field has been great! Harder than I ever thought, 500 years long, but all together wonderful. My trainer Sister Aiono is the greatest. The second I walked into the room of trainers on the first day I saw her and literally said a prayer that she would be my comp! She's so sweet, hard working, Christlike and most importantly POLYNESIAN. I couldn't have dreamed up a better fit for me:) She's from Taylorsville Utah but her family is Samoan. She served in Australia for about 2 months before Covid and has only been in Colorado for only 1 transfer! Yet she's training me and doing amazing. Also she always tells me I'm polynesian at heart which makes me happy. BIKES. I've never had such a love-hate relationship with anything before. We live about a 45 minute bike ride from our area and we have to make ...

Week 6: 'til we meet again...in Italia:)

CIAO A TUTTI! I hope everyone is having a bomb summer and doing lots of boating and swimming for me! This week was probably my most favorite week of the MTC so far. L'ultimo settimana...the last week:/ I honestly had no idea that I would be this sad to "leave" the MTC (aka log off of zoom for the last time) *tears!* I couldn't have asked for a better MTC experience and I wouldn't change a single thing. I know that I was supposed to meet every person in my district and learn from each of their testimonies. We all became best friends and had the funnest times. I know that I needed to be taught by my wonderful teachers, Fratello Nordgran and Fratello Young--who I'm convinced were the greatest missionaries of all time. I learned so many lessons and principles from them that I will never forget. I know for a fact that I was supposed to be in my Power Trio with Sorella Kroff and Nydegger:) I'm forever grateful for our unbreakable friendship and can't wa...

Week 5: posso parlare in inglese per favor?

First month down as a missionary WAHOOO I feel like time has flown by but at the same time I am more than ready to get out of my house and start teaching in the field! Quick update of the past 2 weeks:  I got temporarily reassigned to the Fort Collins Colorado Mission! I am super stoked to go and feel so blessed to be leaving on July 21-just three days after I finish the MTC. I feel great about this reassignment and know that there are people in Colorado being prepared to meet me! I'm still hopeful to get to Italy soon, but happy to serve the Lord wherever he needs me. I know that the gospel is needed everywhere and every person deserves to hear this wonderful message. We taught another Italiano lesson to Matthew and it went great! Besides the fact that he wanted to know about the Plan of Salvation but we haven't learned any of the words for that lesson yet....showbiz baby! We taught him a great lesson about how the gospel brings us happiness, even duri...

Week 4: Farewell talk

Image
Ciao and aloha mia famiglia! Thank you guys so much for coming today and supporting me! Honestly, I was pretty sad when I found out I wouldn’t be able to have a farewell talk, but we decided that this is the next best thing! And let’s face it, we all hate sitting through that final speaker anyway! Also, I’m so glad none of you showed up in masks so I can actually see your smiling familiar faces! Like you all probably know, I have been called to serve in the Italia, Milano mission. This week I got temporarily reassigned to the Fort Collins, Colorado mission and will leave on July 21! I have been participating in the Online MTC for the past month and it has been amazing. Even with the weird circumstances that I am currently in, I truly love being a missionary. Ever since I was a little girl I have always wanted to go on a mission. In fact, I didn’t even know that girls had the choice of not going! My mom never missed an opportunity to talk about missions. Looking back now, I’m pretty ...
