Week 6: 'til we meet again...in Italia:)
CIAO A TUTTI! I hope everyone is having a bomb summer and doing lots of boating and swimming for me! This week was probably my most favorite week of the MTC so far. L'ultimo settimana...the last week:/ I honestly had no idea that I would be this sad to "leave" the MTC (aka log off of zoom for the last time) *tears!*
I couldn't have asked for a better MTC experience and I wouldn't change a single thing. I know that I was supposed to meet every person in my district and learn from each of their testimonies. We all became best friends and had the funnest times. I know that I needed to be taught by my wonderful teachers, Fratello Nordgran and Fratello Young--who I'm convinced were the greatest missionaries of all time. I learned so many lessons and principles from them that I will never forget. I know for a fact that I was supposed to be in my Power Trio with Sorella Kroff and Nydegger:) I'm forever grateful for our unbreakable friendship and can't wait for that glorious day when we will all meet up again in Italia. The MTC is amazing!! I've come to understand that it's all about the principles you learn, the spirit you feel and the people you meet. And the coolest thing is that I didn't have to be in the actual MTC building to experience these things!
We had an amazing last lesson with Elizabeth on Thursday. My companions and I got to share our testimonies of how wonderful this gospel is and how happy it makes us. It was bittersweet saying goodbye to Elizabeth because she has been with us from the beginning. From our first AMAZING lesson about prayer; to the time when she literally screamed when we showed her a picture of the first vision; to her telling us about how much she loves Korean music, food and MEN; to her telling us about her desire to know the that this gospel is true and committing to continually exercise her faith and read The Book of Mormon. Seeing her growth has been amazing. And the best part is... we looked her up on facebook after we ended our last lesson and found out she's not even a member:) We were teaching her for real!! Ahhhh I can only hope I come back from my mission and she's baptized.
My comps and I read the talk "The Miricle of a Mission" for our last comp study. I absolutely love this quote from Elder Holland where he talks about serving a mission:
"This is more important than anything you’ve ever done in your life. However, we feel . . . and I’m sure you’ve been wondering . . . however significant your lives may have been . . . and I’m sure you’ve done very important things, . . . this is higher and holier and more sacred and more eternal than anything you’ve ever done. It is by definition the most important thing you can do in the world, in time or eternity. For this reason you are engaged in the saving of the human soul. And that is the highest and holiest work in the universe."
This is the most important work in the world and I feel so lucky to be a part of it! Colorado in T-2 days wahoooo
