Week 5: posso parlare in inglese per favor?

First month down as a missionary WAHOOO I feel like time has flown by but at the same time I am more than ready to get out of my house and start teaching in the field! Quick update of the past 2 weeks:

I got temporarily reassigned to the Fort Collins Colorado Mission! I am super stoked to go and feel so blessed to be leaving on July 21-just three days after I finish the MTC. I feel great about this reassignment and know that there are people in Colorado being prepared to meet me! I'm still hopeful to get to Italy soon, but happy to serve the Lord wherever he needs me. I know that the gospel is needed everywhere and every person deserves to hear this wonderful message.

We taught another Italiano lesson to Matthew and it went great! Besides the fact that he wanted to know about the Plan of Salvation but we haven't learned any of the words for that lesson yet....showbiz baby! We taught him a great lesson about how the gospel brings us happiness, even during hard times. It was crazy how much better we all understood him compared to last lesson. We were able to actually say what we wanted to say and not just read our notes lol.

I am understanding more and more Italian everyday and it's so cool to be in class and actually understand what my teacher is saying. The majority of our class we are speaking only Italian and have to ask permission to speak in English. It has been challenging but has pushed me to speak more and I'm definitely seeing the benefits! The gift of tongues is so real.

We had another english lesson with Elizabeth this week and it was the best one yet. We taught her all about the Atonement of Jesus Christ. We explained to her that Christ suffered for all of her sins, afflictions, sorrows and pains so that she doesn't have to go through anything alone. This was the first time where I literally felt myself teaching by the spirit and completely allowing the Holy Ghost to work through me in order to touch Elizabeth's heart. The spirit was so strong and when we ended the lesson she told us that she has a desire to use the Atonement everyday to become more like Christ. My missionary heart was bursting!

The most important thing that I have learned these past two weeks is that God has a plan! He is using me in ways that I may not understand until later, but he needs me now more than ever to share this amazing gospel and bring others unto Christ. I invite you all to do the same and become missionaries in your everyday lives. You may not feel ready, but He is ready for you!

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths"

This email was definitely long and boring so if you made it through CONGRATS and if you just skipped to look at the pictures u rock and i love u
