Week 10: Auntie Rona

What's up famiglia, hope everyone is doing good and getting excited to go back to school aka ZOOM !! Anyways, don't let my subject line scare you cuz I actually didn't get corona this week but we had a close call lol. A member texted us Sunday night and told us she texted positive for the Rona...and so we got really worried cause we knew we had been in contact with her daughter and thought we were gonna be quarantined. I don't think I've ever said so many prayers in one day hahaha I was so bummed thinking we were gonna be stuck inside for 2 weeks. But Heavenly Father pulled through and answered our prayers:) The nurse told us that since we were only in contact with the daughter we should be fine to still work but just be cautious. Blessings people, blessings.

This week was good! We did a lot of service which was super fun:) We helped a member family move, helped a member's friend load a storage unit and (of course) did some weeding. I'm so grateful to be able to do service because I know a lot of missionaries still aren't allowed or don't have the opportunities. PSA: Call up your local missionaries and ask them to pull your weeds!! I promise they will be stoked

My favorite part of the week was having a "Salsa Party" with our girl Joy. We brought the salsa and she made us homemade guacamole. We showed up and I barely recognized her! She had gotten all dressed up, did her hair and put on some make up. We are used to seeing her wearing her nightgown, sitting in her car smoking and face timing some random dude. This made me so happy because I could tell she was so excited to hang out with us. We sat with her and just talked about life and eat salsa! She asked us a lot of questions about the church which was so great! She thought we worshiped Jospeh Smith and also had no idea we were Christian....hahahha why am I not surprised:,) Glad we got to clear some things up. Near the end, she started crying and told us how much we mean to her. She thanked us for not "shoving the gospel down her throat" but for truly just wanting to be her friend. She raved about how kind and genuine we are and told us that we make her wanna learn more about the church. We bore our testimonies and gave her a BOM. I kid you not I shed tears. Made me realize what an impact we can all have on others just by being their friend and leading by example. Joy told us day 1 that she didn't want to hear about the gospel. We could have just stopped talking to her right then and there but we decided, WHO CARES! NO PROBLEM! We just wanted to become her friend and show her that we loved her. That's exactly what we did and look at her now! I'm so excited to see her grow and hopefully want to learn more about the gospel.

Colorado is great and I love it more each day buttt still have hopes to get to Italy....so pray for a COVID vaccine or for America to chill out or for me to wake up in Venice tomorrow:)

Thanks for all the emails and prayers! It means the world to me
