Week 11: is this corn hand shucked?

CIAO MIA FAMIGLIA! How's everyone doing? Crazy that school is starting up already....I feel like just yesterday I was walking to my first day of class at BYUH😅 time flies! Send me all the back-to-school pictures and updates please:) I seriously love getting stuff throughout the week.


Good week here in Colorado! Lots of biking. Lots of Facebook finding. Lots of ups and downs. We did have some miracles this week though! We had dinner with a member family and got to meet the daughter's boyfriend who's not a member! He's interested in learning about the gospel because he knows it means a lot to his gf. So we will be teaching him every Wednesday night! I have a great feeling about it cuz he'll have his girlfriend there for support. We are also going to be teaching this family'a grandmother! But she doesn't know that yet;) She's always loved the missionaries but has only been taught by elders many years ago.....I'm pretty sure she's just been waiting for some bomb sisters to come around and change her heart😎 We also have two 9 year old kids who are on date to be baptized! They both come from part member families that aren't active so please pray for that things will continue to progress and their families will be supportive! 

Sister Aiono is the greatest ukulele player and singer I've ever met and we've been using her talents to do missionary work! We make singing vids for our Facebook page, play songs for members and sing at the park so people will come up and talk to us. Its honestly been so great in helping people to like us and not just assume we are Nuns like they usually do lol:) 

I got some great news this week! 
1) Americans are finally going to Italy! This is HUGE and I have a feeling I'll get there by Christmas ❤ 
2) The Fort Collins temple is now open for live endowments! So in the next few weeks I'll finally get to go through the temple and my parents get to come out for it! Such a tender mercy.

I have been struggling a little bit to understand why I am on a mission during this crazy time and if I'm even making a difference in these people's lives. I was praying very hard about it and needed to recive some reassurance. In my personal study this week I read a verse in Alma that was exactly what I needed to hear. Its actually talking about men being called and ordained to be priests, but I decided to read it as ME being called and ordained to be a MISSIONARY. 

"...being called and prepared from the foundation of the world according to the foreknowledge of God, on account of their exceeding faith and good works...they are called with a holy calling, yea, with that holy calling which was prepared with, and according to, a preparatory redemption for such."

This was such a great reminder to me that my calling as a missionary at this specific time, in this specific place was prepared from the foundation of the earth. God has known my entire life that I would first be called to Italy, a world pandemic would hit, I'd do online MTC, be reassigned to Colorado, and get to be a missionary during the most difficult time possible. This is such a holy calling! I am so lucky to be a representative of Christ at this time when people need to just feel Christ's love in their lives.

Ciao a tuttiiii!! Buon Natale! Merry Christmas:) i hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your families! I had a great Christmas here in Trieste! It was honestly everything I ever hoped it would be and the awesome members made me feel completely at home! Something really cool I got to do on Christmas morning was go to catholic mass! We went with one of our investigators. We made a deal with him to do a chiesa scambio (church swap) so we would go to his church on saturday and he would come to ours on sunday! The mass was awesome! Very different, but still very spiritual. I think the best part was that I got to be in the shoes of the investigator, I got to feel how they might feel walking into a new and strange environment. I have come to gain a lot of respect and understanding for the Catholics here in Italy. It's been beautiful to learn more about them because in return, they are so more willing to learn about us! Week 81: love at home:)

Ciaooo amici miei!! This last week has been so full of miracles I can't even begin to count. The Lord is truly blessing this city and preparing people to accept the gospel! Oh how wonderful it's been! Here's a little rundown: This whole transfer we have been praying & fasting & working to receive a golden referral, and this week we ended up getting UN SACCO (a ton)!! - our recent convert Tani started sharing the gospel with his 16 year old son and now he wants to meet with us and start coming to church! - our awesome nonna (grandma) of the ward introduced us to her friend who introduced us to her sister & nephew and we had an AMAZING Restoration lesson with all 3 of them:) we gifted them each a book of Mormon and they were so excited! Very promising! - this cool 18 year-old member who's preparing for a mission wants us to teach his girlfriend with him! Week 78: Christmas in Italy!

Ciaooo a tutti!! Welcome back. This was probably one of my favorite weeks on the mission! I've never been so tired but happy at the same time HAH. Things are super bene! • we have been finding the coolest, most prepared, young people! Chiara & Aaron we met this week. It's so fun to teach them because I literally feel like I'm teaching myself! My favorite thing ever was seeing their faces just light up as we gave them a Book of Mormon and testified of the power found within the pages. They are both searching for something more in life and I'm so grateful God let our paths cross! • this week I got to go to 2 Zone Conferences! One was in Florence. Yes you read that right. I'm literally living a dream! 😅 We gave a training with the ZLs about building our discipleship. Fun fact for my FOCO friends lol Elder Toone is the ZL and it's a blast. THEN, 2 days later we went to Pordenone for our other zone conference and trained about perspective & purpose. So much ...
