Week 20: Jesus take the handle bars
What's up everyone, I hope y'all had a good week and are staying warmer than I am over here in Colorado! It snowed about 10 inches on Sunday and the temp dropped to 0 degrees. Non mi piace🙃 We biked to church wearing sweatpants under our dresses and dodging all the snow plows as they came up behind us. I was singing "Jesus take the wheel" in my head the whole way there. After church we had a couple lessons in the area that we just walked to cuz the snow would not stop dumping. Since there was no way for us to bike home in the powder and members aren't allowed to give rides anymore, we walked the 3.5 miles back to our apartment! It was an adventure to say the least. We played 20 questions but it turned into 150 questions before we got home lol good times! Some cool stuff:• We went on exchanges and I got to be with my trainer Sister Aiono for the day! SUCH A BLESSING. I was losing the polynesian in me but I quickly got it back;)• While on exchanges, we were at a member's house to teach a lesson. Her name is Sister Farbus. We started talking and I found out she is from Ireland and Papa (my grandpa) confirmed her a member of the church! Turns out her family is really good friends with my family hahah pretty cool• We have gotten sooo close with the Teaupa family. They signed up to feed us 4 nights in a row and our fridge is stocked with all the leftovers they send home with us. Hahaha Bro Teaupa is so worried we are going hungry. He ordered us 2 HUGE prime ribs the other night😂 I love Tongans.• Henry and Raiden's baptism is on Sunday WAHOO we are so pumped and they are so ready. Please pray that everything goes well this weekend.• We got the amazing, wonderful news last night that we are getting a car!!! I've never been so stoked! I know our missionary work will be a lot more effective now that we won't have to spend half our days traveling!• I did some calculations and found out that in the past 14 weeks I've biked about 687 miles. Crazy!! Lowkey im gonna be sad to say goodbye to our bikes...had so many good memories with them.We are trying so hard to find new people to teach this week and contacting literally everyone but nothing seems to be happening. It is hard being a missionary. Especially when it seems like no one wants to listen to you. When I was feeling discouraged I remembered this scripture Fratello Young shared with us in the MTC:Alma 28:8"And this is the account of Ammon and his brethren, their journeyings in the land of Nephi, their sufferings in the land, their sorrows, and their afflictions, and their incomprehensible joy, and the reception and safety of the brethren in the land of Jershon."Missions are hard and definitely full of sufferings, sorrows and afflictions. But missions also bring an incomprehensible joy that I am always able to feel, even during the rough times.I love you all very much. Thanks for your emails, they mean so much to me!! I hate the winter but I love the Lord more:)Ci vediamo,Sorella Pitt
