Week 52: I have no idea what im doing:)))

Ciao!!!! This email is gonna be short & sweet:) Found out yesterday that my trainer is leaving me to another area so me (been here 3 weeks) and Sorella Hatch (been here 6 weeks) are being left in Genova to fend for ourselves! HAH im completly terrified and excited at the same time. The langueage is a stuggle still, but we did a 3 day "english fast" as a companionship and that helped a lot! Only speaking Italian with eachother 24/7 gave me a fat headache but also expanded me vocabulary a whole bunch!! Like I said, I am feeling so terrified and not sure how I'm gonna even be able to do missionary work when I still have no idea how to schedule appointments....but this scripture from CFM this week was an answer to my prayers 6 "Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ, that I am the Son of the living God, that I was, that I am, and that I am to come." I know...

Week 51: Funnies!

BUONGIORNO! I had an amazing week! Still don't understand 80% of what people are saying, but I've gotten really good at nodding along & asking random questions😅 This week has been full of hilarious moments HAH i love Italians. Lemme just tell you some funny things that have happened: - my first time getting on the train the door literally closed on my body when I was halfway in and started MOVING.  - we had a YSA activity at the park & introduced them to waterballoon volleyball. They thought it was the coolest thing. We had an entire audience of probably 25 people filming & cheering HA seriously so classic - whenever I tell people I'm from Utah they say, "ahhh sì, la fabrica." (Ahhh yes, the factory) - a member asked us to teach him some of our english slang and he spent the rest of the night saying, "pour me tea" (spill the tea) & "that is so upe" (thats so hype) ahahaha  - another member confessed to us that he is a addicted ...

Ciao a tutti!!!!! Sto qui in Italia! After an EARLY morning, 3 flights, 3 covid tests & running across the airport to catch my connection...i made it! My MTC companions and I met up in NYC and all flew over together:,) it was such a tender mercy to be with them. We couldn't believe it. We had been talking about this day for a YEAR! I am here serving in Genova. Literally the prettiest place on earth, and right by the ocean. It's like God knows me or something?? I am experiencing major culture shock. With the new country and the new mission. Everything is so different but I'm just trying to go with the flow like I have for my entire mission so far! The language is basically wrecking me and I feel so bad when I can't respond to people who try to talk with me:/ Also, Italians talk so dang fast I'm lucky to pick up on a few of the words they say. But truly God is helping me & eachday gets better and better! I had the opportunity to share my simple testimony in ch...

Week 49: I'll go where you want me to go...

Ciao a tutti!! Hey everyone! PSA: If you read any of my emails this is the one to read:)   So about 2 weeks ago I was having a really rough time. Sister Tia & I both just felt like Satan was throwing punches at as. Most of our lessons fell through, we had to drop some people we love but aren't progressing, no one answered their doors or gave us the time of day to talk with them, and pretty much we just felt like the worst missionaries in the world. So yeah, not super fun!! I remember getting on my knees at night and just praying for God to show me if He was there, and if He even cared about what I was doing out here.   And BOY did He answer my prayer. In so many ways! On Monday, I was so ready for a new week. Fresh start. In my studies I studied the section in PMG called, "Talk With Everyone." And wow. I decided I needed to be better. Let me tell you something, I struggle talking with everyone! You all remember that 12 year old Maddy who would bawl everytime she had t...
