Week 50: happiest 1/20 of my life!
Ciao a tutti!!!!! Sto qui in Italia! After an EARLY morning, 3 flights, 3 covid tests & running across the airport to catch my connection...i made it! My MTC companions and I met up in NYC and all flew over together:,) it was such a tender mercy to be with them. We couldn't believe it. We had been talking about this day for a YEAR! I am here serving in Genova. Literally the prettiest place on earth, and right by the ocean. It's like God knows me or something?? I am experiencing major culture shock. With the new country and the new mission. Everything is so different but I'm just trying to go with the flow like I have for my entire mission so far! The language is basically wrecking me and I feel so bad when I can't respond to people who try to talk with me:/ Also, Italians talk so dang fast I'm lucky to pick up on a few of the words they say. But truly God is helping me & eachday gets better and better! I had the opportunity to share my simple testimony in church on sunday and it was really special. The members here are amazing! They love the gospel, love coming to church and LOVE the missionaries. They are constantly meeting with us and helping us find people to teach. It was so sweet hearing their testimonies on Sunday. It's so cool to see how even though they are speaking a diffent language & meeting in a tiny make-shift chapel on the third floor of a random building, you can feel the same spirit. This truly is a global church & the gospel is the same all over the world. It's so humbling to experience it:) So tomorrow I turn 20!! And also hit my 1 year on the mission! Ahhhhh time has literally flown and I can't even put into words how grateful I am for the mission. Looking back and seeing how much I have grown & changed just makes me so happy. Im telling you, this gospel is the KEY to finding your best and happiest self️ i wanted to include 20 things I've learned...but this email is getting too long so im gonna stick to 5 of my favorites 1) "Therefore, I, the Lord, have suffered you to come unto this place; for thus it was expedient in me for the salvation of souls." D&C 100:4 YOU ARE EXACTLY WHERE YOU NEED TO BE 2) "If you just do everything out of Love you can never go wrong" - Sister Aiono 3) "The Lord doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called." - Brother McCloy 4)“We never have more value in the Lord’s sight than when we are feeling completely worthless.” -Elder Bruce C. Hafen 5) "This world is full of 'starters', the Lord needs you to be a FINISHER" -President Palmer Im stoked for this new adventure on the mission! Thank you for all your prayers in getting me to Italy:,) I have the best friends & family in the world. VI VOGLIO BENE, Sorella Pitt For some reason i can't attach pics so I'll send em next week!
