Week 65: Trieste!!
Buongiornoooo:) whats up everyone! Well after 3 trains & 7 hours of traveling all alone with 2 giant suitcases...I made it to the beautiful Trieste! I didn't think anywhere could be prettier than Genova but WOW was I wrong this place is gorgeous. I think God felt bad for keeping me landlocked in the states for so long that now he's letting me serve in all the seaside cities! My comp and I are whitewashing (aka both brand new to the area) so we've been spending the last two weeks working to get to know the members and finding people to teach!
We have seen so many miracles, big & little. They have helped me remember that God is truly in the details of our lives. Here's just one I wanted to share:
- We were on the bus the other day and a group of high schoolers got on. I noticed one of the girls who was standing alone in the back of the bus and looked like she didn't have any friends. The spirit told me to open my mouth and talk to her so I did! I started asking her questions about school and what she liked to do! I could tell she didn't have a lot of confidence and just needed to feel loved. I felt like I needed to tell her that she is beautiful! I just said "sei bellissima!" She sat there for a few seconds just looking at me weird and then tears started to fill her eyes. She told me that besides her parents, I was the first person in her life to ever tell her that she was beautiful. My heart felt broken yet full at the same time. I was immediately grateful to Heavenly Father for putting me in the right place at the right time, just to remind one of his daughters how beautiful she is. I truly felt His love for her at that moment. Sadly she had to get off at the next stop so we didn't get to talk more but i gave her our card & praying that she calls!
In honor of general conference this weekend, I'll add one of my favorite quotes:
"The Lord’s hand is guiding you. By 'divine design,' He is in the small details of your life as well as the major milestones."
I have come to treasure the simple truth that God truly is our literal and loving Father in Heaven. He wants the best for each & every one of his precious children and He is constantly reaching out to us in ways that we might not even realize. So look for His hand this week:) In the good & the bad, the big & the small, He will be there!
Spero abbiate una bellissima settimana!
TANTO AMORE,
Sorella Pitt
