Week 36: Long Live Sister Hick

Wow!! Whatta crazy, happy, stressful, spiritual, tear-filled, miracle-filled, awesome week! I don't even know where to begin...

I had always heard about everything going wrong on the week of a baptism, but I never understood it cuz all of mine always turned out great! But oh boyyy, Satan was doing everything he could to stop the baptism this week. And man did it tear me up inside. Made me so stressed and frustrated and UGH I hate Satan. I think I prayed more this week than I did in my 3 years of high school combined. I was praying and praying and praying that things would be okay & that this family would hold strong. And they did:) Cashlyn and her dad got dressed in white on Saturday! She came up from the water with a giant smile on her face and both of her parents were in tears. It was the most beautiful day!

Sunday was just as great! We had 7 nonmembers come to church. 7!! That's literally the amount of members that were coming when I first got here! It's remarkable to see how much the Lord has blessed this branch. It was the most spirit-filled sacrament meeting I've been to on my mission. Cashlyn was confirmed and received the Holy Ghost! Then me & my comp & a member sang a medley of "Come Thou Font & If You Could Hie To Kolob". I was literally shaking with nerves but it turned out pretty good and the spirit was pouring out of our little building. Who ever woulda thought I'd be singing in sacrament? HA Not me.

Sooooo Sunday night we got a call from President telling us some pretty crazy news. I'm being transferred BACK to Longmont to be companions with my trainer, Sister Aiono. Whaaaaaaat?! I am sooooo stoked!! I love Longmont. I love Sister Aiono. But at the same time, super bummed to be leaving Wyoming. I never could have imagined how much I would love it up here. I am SO grateful I got to serve here. I learned so dang much. From vaccinating goats to butchering sheep to talking like a full on cowgirl! These people have taught me to focus on what's most important in life and to always be willing to help anyone.

God has shown me time and time again that I am here for a reason, and He has led me to people who I've been waiting my whole life to meet. These people have blessed me more than I ever could have blessed them.

I love the person Heavenly Father is helping me to become. I love my Savior. I love the mission. LONG LIVE WYOMING
