Week 27: SEI MESSI :)

Image
CIAO from freezing cold Wyoming! This week was fun:) we're getting super excited for Christmas over here and telling every person we meet about Light The World. I love being a missionary during this time because I get to completely focus on the true meaning of Christmas and share the joy that comes from Jesus Christ with everyone! It was a bit of a slower week with appointments falling through and people not answering, but we pushed through and still saw some little miracles. I hit my 6 months as a missionary! So crazy. I swear I've been out here for like 4 days. But at the same time I feel like I've been a missionary my whole life HA! I am so incredibly grateful for these past 6 months and everything I have learned. I would not trade them for anything else. Not even those 15 weeks on bike...Missions rock and I am SO glad I decided to serve one. Our branch is doing this awesome thing called "Living Christmas Cards." Members of the branch will request us to go visi...

Week 25: small town girl

What's up mia famiglia e amici:) Coming at you live from Pavillion WY!! Population of 231. To be honest I feel like I'm living on another planet but it's been so fun🤣 Who knew you could actually experience culture shock in the States! My comp is this sweet girl from Preston Idaho who loves to ride horses, has some sort of Western accent and even brought her cowboy boots with her--so she fits right in here! Meanwhile, I stick out like a sore thumb with my Urban Outfitter boots, blonde highlights and fear of almost every animal... BUT I'm learning to embrace the culture and love every second of being here! Change is hard but also so fun. I will always miss my people in Longmont but super pumped to meet more awesome people here! Some highlights: - We live in a literal barn with cows and horses that come up to our windows and wake us up in the morning  - 2 HOURS OF CHURCH! whaaaat. Since the people are so spread out here and we just have a tiny branch, everyone gets to go ...

Week 24: you'll find me in the middle of nowhere:)

Well everyone, this week we got the news that I'm being transferred to the one place I always said I didn't want to go....RIVERTON WYOMING! yeehaw. God definitely has a sense of humor! But in all seriousness, I am super excited to start a new and wonderful adventure in Wyoming! I know it's where the Lord wants me to be. I'm gonna be finishing up training a cute Sister from Idaho! It will be a blast. I just keep telling myself that haha. Another funny thing--because of Covid cases rising we aren't having a transfer bus...so I will be driving the whole 6 hours to Riverton by myself!! Send me all your fav conference talks please It was so bittersweet to say goodbye to the family I've made here in Bella Rosa. I could not have dreamed up a better ward! I will never forget all the amazing members that fed us everynight and were always looking out for us. I also feel SO blessed to have been apart of the Teaupa and Dunagan familes' journey into the gospel. Their tes...

Week 23: Best day of 2020

Ciao!! What's up everyone? Hope you all are doing good and staying safe cuz Corona is getting crazyy lately! I'm just happy for every day I get to still go out and see people...praying we don't have to be locked in our apartment anytime soon🙏 These past 2 weeks have flown by. Here's some highs and lows: - The two people we were teaching completely ghosted us so we've been working our tails off to find new people -Been doing a TON of raking leaves...I woke up one morning & thought I had broken my wrist in my sleep lol turns out it was just sore from raking for hours - Taught some AMAZING member lessons! We have been doing this thing where we teach lessons to members in our ward who were converts to the church and they act like their "old selves". This way, we get to practice teaching and they can give us feedback. Plus the spirit in these lessons has been sooo strong and the members love it. -Found a new person! José. Missionaries have taught him befor...

Week 21: double dunkeddd

Ciao:) It's been such a great week and I am so grateful to be a missionary! Prima, happy birthday yesterday to the cutest and coolest 7 year old in the world--I love and miss u Chasers❤ This week both Raiden and Henry got baptized! Double dunked baby. It was the happiest day ever. Seeing how the gospel has changed this family just makes my heart so full. When I first met Henry, he wasn't interested in the church, had a beer fridge in his garage and thought "mormons" were polygamists who rode around on horses and buggies. BUT if I wouldn't have known any better, I would have thought he was a member! He is constantly serving everyone around him, always making others feel so good about themselves and is a wonderful father to his kids. He truly personifies the attribute of charity and he will do amazing things as a member of the church! I can't wait to see where his decision takes his family and I'm so excited for them to be sealed in the temple next year.  I ...

Week 20: Jesus take the handle bars

Image
What's up everyone, I hope y'all had a good week and are staying warmer than I am over here in Colorado! It snowed about 10 inches on Sunday and the temp dropped to 0 degrees. Non mi piace🙃  We biked to church wearing sweatpants under our dresses and dodging all the snow plows as they came up behind us. I was singing "Jesus take the wheel" in my head the whole way there. After church we had a couple lessons in the area that we just walked to cuz the snow would not stop dumping. Since there was no way for us to bike home in the powder and members aren't allowed to give rides anymore, we walked the 3.5 miles back to our apartment! It was an adventure to say the least. We played 20 questions but it turned into 150 questions before we got home lol good times!  Some cool stuff: • We went on exchanges and I got to be with my trainer Sister Aiono for the day! SUCH A BLESSING. I was losing the polynesian in me but I quickly got it back;) • While on exchanges, we were at ...
